John Joseph Donohue died on January 27, 2014, after a brave 15-month battle with pancreatic cancer. He will be remembered for his warmth, quick wit, quiet guidance, and wisdom.
Purple Stride DC 2017 was a huge success!
On June 10, 2017, a John's Band team of 40 ran, walked, and rolled across the finish line at the PurpleStride DC 5K, a fundraiser for the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network. In this, our fourth year, we exceeded our fundraising goal and were able to give $7500 to this great organization. Over the years we have raised about $50,000 in the fight to create a world without pancreatic cancer. THANK YOU to all who donated to our cause, came downtown to run/walk, or supported us in spirit.

TO DONATE TO THE AWARD FUND
Please send a check made out to The John Donohue Foundation to the address below. The Foundation is a 501(c)(3) organization and your donation is tax-deductible.
The John Donohue Memorial Award, a one-time award of $1000, recognizes students who have demonstrated their commitment to the field of Classics by qualifying to renew their National Latin Exam Scholarship for all four years of undergraduate study. It is hoped that, no matter what field they pursue in the future, they will, like John, live a life enriched and inspired by all things Greek and Roman....and inspire others in turn.
